Muévelo con Pepsi

Pepsi invites you to celebrate International Dance Day by joining the worlds first virtual dance class.

To help celebrate latin music, as well as give away some exclusive Pepsi cans, we created a virtual park filled with dance tutorials, hosted by Casper Smart.

Guests were encouraged to run around to explore 5 dance tutorials, each centered around a specific style.

Bringing the idea to life

We were given direction from the client to create a space that payed respects to the cities that were represented on each of the limited edition Pepsi cans.

After thinking about the setting, we felt that creating a vibrant park, inspired by the metropolitan citites from each can, felt like the right setting, in which would be filled with larger than life elements, and Pepsi giveaways.

Floor Plan

As we were ideating on the setting of the space, we had already mapped out the actual flow and placement for the space.

We wanted each Pepsi can to be evenly placed around the back-half of the park in order for maximum visibility when you first land insto the space, as well as visual balance.

Art Direction

Once the setting + floorplan was approved, we began ideating on the details. What sort of architecture did we feel represented Pepsi, how did we want each of the stages to flow from genre to genre.

We landed on a park style that felt organic in its pathways, and fluid-like, inspired by the Pepsi logo.

We also wanted to make sure the space didn’t feel to corporate and serious, rather uplifting, energetic, and fun.

Greyboxing

Once the placement of the space was approved, we began what is called “Greyboxing”. Greyboxing is when we create the space, but purposefully leave everything grey, as to help focus the clients (and our) attention on the general layout and flow.

Adding colors and textures only invites feedback, and at this part of the process, that should not be the focus.

Adding life

With greyboxing approved, we then begin to add colors, textures, and subtle animations to bring the entire experience to life, and all there was left to do was wait for the excited fans on launch day!
